How games work

What are PaperTax games?

Short games played with real positions on papertrade, Hyperliquid's perps venue on HyperEVM: Liquidation Chicken, The Run, duels and lobbies. Each round opens and closes a real position from your papertrade balance.

Is there anything to win?

No. There are no prizes, and games aren't connected to $TAX or its drops. You get a place on the weekly leaderboards if you choose a name, and a result card to share on X.

How is a score worked out?

PaperTax reads the position papertrade settled. Liquidation Chicken's Nerve (0 to 99) is how close the price came to your liquidation while you held, from Hyperliquid's 1-minute prices; liquidated scores 0. The Run counts rounds closed in profit. Rooms rank players by what each kept. The page never sends a score.

What are the limits?

Rounds use $10, $25 or $50 of margin. You can play 30 rounds and lose up to $100 net in any 24 hours, and games pause for 15 minutes after 3 losses in a row.

How do duels and lobbies start?

When you join, you sign an order once and PaperTax holds it. Everyone's order is sent together the moment the room fills, even if you've left the page. A room that hasn't filled in 24 minutes lapses and sends nothing, and you can leave before it fills. Everyone has 2 hours to close; anyone still holding then is placed last.

Is my wallet shown?

No. Leaderboards, rooms and share cards show only the name you choose, and you only appear on leaderboards once you choose one.
