Tax records for HIP-3 markets
HIP-3 lets builders deploy their own perpetual markets on Hyperliquid. They include stock perps like TSLA and NVDA, commodities like GOLD, and pre-launch markets. For tax, they behave like any other Hyperliquid perp.
Which markets are covered
PaperTax reads every HIP-3 market through Hyperliquid's public API, including trade.xyz, Paragon, Felix, Ventuals and Kinetiq. Each builder shows up as its own venue, so you can review them separately from core Hyperliquid perps.
Stock and commodity perps
A TSLA or GOLD perp on HIP-3 is a USDC-settled derivative. You never own the share or the metal, so there are no dividends or share sales to report. The tax events are the same as any perp: realised gains and losses on close, liquidations, fees and funding.
Why general tools miss them
HIP-3 market names carry the builder's prefix (like xyz:TSLA), and many crypto tax tools either skip these fills or can't price them. PaperTax keeps the market, the builder and the transaction hash on every row, and exports them in a format Koinly and Crypto Tax Calculator accept.
How to get your numbers
- Paste your wallet at papertax.xyz and pick your tax year.
- Check each HIP-3 venue in the venue list.
- Export everything together, or only the venues you choose.

Questions
Are HIP-3 stock perps taxed like shares?
Generally not. They are USDC-settled derivatives, so you don't own the shares and the results are realised gains and losses on the positions, plus fees and funding.
Does PaperTax support trade.xyz?
Yes. trade.xyz, Paragon, Felix, Ventuals, Kinetiq and other HIP-3 markets are read automatically from your wallet address.
Can I export only some HIP-3 markets?
Yes. Each builder appears as its own venue, and you can include or exclude venues before exporting.
