Import Hyperliquid trades into Koinly or Crypto Tax Calculator

Updated 16 October 2026 · General information, not tax advice

Koinly and Crypto Tax Calculator (CTC) are good at reports, but they don't always capture Hyperliquid perps, HIP-3 markets or Papertrade from a wallet address alone. The reliable route is a CSV made for each tool.

1. Make the CSV

  1. Paste your wallet address at papertax.xyz and choose your tax year.
  2. Review the venues. Untick any you've already imported another way.
  3. Under Export, choose Koinly (Koinly universal CSV) or Crypto Tax Calculator (advanced manual CSV), then download.

Each row includes the realised profit or loss, fees, funding and the on-chain transaction, so you can trace any number back.

2. Import into Koinly

  1. In Koinly, add a new wallet (for example "Hyperliquid perps").
  2. Choose to import from a file and upload the PaperTax CSV.
  3. Check the imported totals against the PaperTax summary.

3. Import into Crypto Tax Calculator

  1. In CTC, add a new account and choose a custom CSV import.
  2. Upload the PaperTax file (advanced manual CSV format).
  3. Compare CTC's realised gains for the account with the PaperTax summary.

Avoiding duplicates

If you've connected your Hyperliquid wallet to Koinly or CTC through an API or wallet sync, perp results may already be partly there. Pick one source for perps, either the sync or the PaperTax CSV, and remove the other. Deposits and withdrawals between your wallet and Hyperliquid are transfers, not sales.

Prefer to skip the tax software?

The audit pack export gives your accountant a PDF and JSON with every figure tied to its transaction hash, plus the rules version used. Accountants can manage many clients on the Accountant plan.

Questions

Does Koinly support Hyperliquid perps?

Koinly may pick up some Hyperliquid activity through integrations, but perps, HIP-3 markets and Papertrade are more reliably imported with a CSV like the one PaperTax exports.

Which CSV format does Crypto Tax Calculator need?

PaperTax exports CTC's advanced manual CSV format, which CTC accepts as a custom import.

Will importing the CSV double count my trades?

Only if another import already covers the same perps. Use one source for perp results, either the CSV or a sync, not both.
